Nous avions inauguré cette rubrique consacrée à l'habillement de Maigret par le pardessus du commissaire. Parce que ce vêtement est le plus caractéristique et celui que l'on retient en premier lorsqu'on parle de la silhouette de Maigret. Mais, comme nous l'avions dit, parfois Maigret revêt un autre pardessus, plus léger, un pardessus de «mi-saison», qu'on appelle aussi «imperméable», et qui, d'après La Première Enquête de Maigret, est de couleur «mastic».

Abbiamo inaugurato questa rubrica dedicata all'abbigliamento di Maigret con il cappotto del commissario. Perché questo vestito è il più caratteristico e quello che viene in mente il primo quando si parla della sagoma di Maigret. Però, come abbiamo detto, a volte Maigret indossa un altro soprabito, più leggero, un soprabito «di mezza stagione», detto anche «impermeabile», il quale, da La prima inchiesta di Maigret, ha un colore «stucco». 

• Other coats

We had inaugurated this column devoted to Maigret's clothing with the Chief Inspector's overcoat. Because this garment is most characteristic and the one we first retain when speaking of Maigret's silhouette. Yet, as we said, sometimes Maigret wore another lighter overcoat, a "mid-season" overcoat, also called "raincoat", and which, according to Maigret's First Investigation, was of putty colour. 

C'est le pardessus sombre qui a si bien dessiné la haute silhouette de Bruno Crémer dans la deuxième partie de la série, une fois qu'on l'eut débarrassé de l'affreux premier pardessus qu'on lui avait fait endosser au début… Dans quelques épisodes, Crémer porte aussi un imperméable. 

C'è il cappotto scuro che ha cosi bene disegnato l'alta sagoma di Bruno Crémer nella seconda parte della serie, dopo essere stato liberato del'orrido primo cappoto che aveva dovuto indossare all'inizio... In alcuni episodi Crémer indossa anche un impermeabile.  

It was the dark overcoat that drew so well Bruno Crémer' high silhouette in the second part of the series, once he was rid of this ugly first overcoat he had to wear at the beginning… Crémer also wore a raincoat in some episodes. 

Mais revenons d'abord quelque peu en arrière dans le temps. Nous retrouvons ici Albert Préjean, le premier des interprètes à oser l'imperméable (tout à gauche sur l'image, dans le film Picpus). Mesdames, qu'en dites-vous ? Un peu trop long ce manteau, non ?… Dans Cécile est morte, Préjean arrive d'abord dans un manteau gris un peu étonnant… Par contre, toujours dans le même film, le deuxième manteau évoque bien le pardessus noir de Maigret tel qu'on se le représente. Enfin, dans Les Caves du Majestic, le revoilà dans un imperméable… mouais…pas très convaincant… 

Ma prima torniamo un po 'indietro nel tempo. Qui ritroviamo Albert Préjean, il primo tra gli attori che ha avuto il coraggio di indossare un impermeabile (a sinistra nel film Picpus). Signore, che ne dite ? Un po' troppo lungo questo cappotto, no? ...In Cécile est morte, Préjean primo arriva in un cappotto grigio un po' sorprendente... D'altra parte, sempre nello stesso film, il secondo cappoto evoca bene quello scuro di Maigret come lo immaginiamo. Infine in Les Caves du Majestic eccolo di nuovo con un impermeabile… Beh... non così convincente… 

But first let's go a little backwards in time. Here we find Albert Préjean, the first among the interpreters to dare the raincoat (quite in the left in the picture, in the film Picpus). Ladies, what dot you think of this coat? It is a bit too long, isn't it? … In Cécile est morte, Préjean came first in a somewhat surprising grey coat… However, in the same film, his second coat well evoked Maigret's black overcoat as we imagine it. Finally, in Les Caves du Majestic, here he is again, wearing a raincoat… Hmm… not so convincing…

Et puisque l'on parle de pardessus, on ne peut manquer d'évoquer cette célèbre image des interprètes du commissaire entourant son créateur, lors de l'inauguration de la statue de Maigret à Delfzijl en 1966. Trois des quatre acteurs présents avaient revêtu l'imperméable du policier, et Simenon lui-même, bien entendu… 

E visto che stiamo parlando di impermeabili, non possiamo non menzionare questa famosa immagine degli interpreti del commissario che circondano il suo creatore, all'inaugurazione della statua di Maigret a Delfzijl nel 1966. Tre dei quattro attori presenti avevano indossato l'impermeabile del poliziotto, e Simenon se stesso ovviamente... 

And since we're talking about raincoat, we cannot fail to mention this famous picture with Chief Inspector's interpreters surrounding his creator, at the inauguration of Maigret's statue at Delfzijl in 1966. Three of the four present actors were wearing the policeman's raincoat, and of course so did Simenon himself…
